PUB fans will be delighted after a Glasgow pub has confirmed they will be re-opening.
Rumours on social media suggested that The Griffin on Bath Street was closed for good, but a spokeswoman for the legendary watering hole said they have plans to open as soon as possible.
A favourite of nearby King's Theatre goers, The Griffin closed its doors in March 2020 and has not re-opened since.
The pub is owned by itison entrepreneur Oli Norman who last year told our sister paper, The Herald, that The Griffin was the most challenged out of all the venues he owns due to the lack of theatre trade.
Now The Kings is set to reopen in September, fortunes are looking up for the beleaguered bar.
A spokeswoman for the group, who also own other popular venues including Sloans and Brel, said: “Like many other venues, The Griffin has been closed temporarily due to the pandemic.
"As life gets back to normal we’ll be planning the return of everyone’s favourite pub! Make sure you’re following The Griffin on Facebook and Instagram to be the first to know!”
