A PENSIONER has been rushed to hospital after being 'struck' by a recovery vehicle.
Emergency services raced to the scene on Townhead Street in Hamilton after the alarm was raised at around 1.30pm yesterday.
The 65-year-old woman was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.
Officers confirmed that her injuries are life-threatening.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of what happened.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 1.30pm on Monday, August 16, 2021, officers were called to a road crash on Townhead Street, Hamilton, where a 65-year-old woman had been struck by a recovery vehicle.
"She was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow suffering from life-threatening injuries.
"Enquiries are continuing."
