A POPULAR South Side restaurant has taken the "difficult decision" to slash its opening hours to improve staff wellbeing.
The Battlefield Rest announced that they would close on Sundays from September 6.
A statement on the Facebook page of the popular Battlefield Road eatery said: "We have taken the difficult decision to return to being closed on a Sunday from September 6.
"This is to help with the general well being of our staff. Also due to logistical difficulties in getting fresh produce.
"Thank you so much for your support."
Regulars have shown their support for the move with one saying: "You're doing the right thing for you and your staff. Good luck."
Another said: "Total respect, everyone deserves a good day off work! See you soon Marco and gang."
