Glasgow Clyde College eagerly await students returning to campus The upcoming academic year is an exciting one for Glasgow Clyde College with admissions looking very strong already.

Early indications suggest a solid recruitment drive, meaning we expect to see a lot of new faces joining us across all levels.

The college is excited to welcome new and returning students back to a somewhat ‘normal’ way of studying, with a balance of on-campus and online learning over the first few weeks.

Having some students back on campus will allow class members the chance to bond with one another in a real-life setting, as well as encouraging in-person interaction with the teaching staff.

Additionally, campus access will allow students to pick up skills in hands-on practical courses – from hairdressing to horticulture. Campus access will also give students the ability to use our libraries for independent study.

We appreciate that some staff and students may be anxious about a return to campus and we will therefore progress cautiously. We will not be rushing towards full capacity on our campuses and so it is not a return to ‘normal’ yet, but we will be gradually increasing on-campus teaching over the next few weeks and will hopefully fully return to campus later this year. The health and safety of our students and members of staff remains our top priority, which is why we will continue to adopt this blended learning approach which we anticipate will evolve in the weeks and months ahead.

Physical distancing of approximately 1m will be in place and, in line with Scottish Government requirements, face coverings should be worn when indoors unless an exemption applies.

While the majority of courses will initially remain a blend of campus and online learning, we are planning to increase face-to-face teaching even further later this year, but this will continue to be in line with government advice and if that changes then so will our plans.

As always, we simply want to deliver the best student experience possible, in a safe and supported way. We are all looking forward to getting back on campus!
