EDUCATION bosses have issued a plea to locals near schools to report anti-social behaviour after a Southside school was targeted.
Thugs broke into the playground of Annette Street primary in Govanhill at the weekend.
They left the yard in disarray after bursting bags of salt and spreading it around the outside space.
An appeal was made on Facebook for people to call the police if they see vandalism at the school and schools chief Chris Cunningham echoed the call.
The Facebook appeal reads: "Annette Street Primary School playground was badly vandalised over the weekend.
"The school community would be very grateful if residents on Annette Street could call the police if they become aware of folk engaging in obvious vandalism on the premises out of school hours.
"Many thanks."
Councillor Chris Cunningham, City Convener for Education, Skills and Early Years, added: "It is always very sad to hear that a school is targeted by vandals - they just don't realise, or care what the impact of their actions have.
"The school has tidied up the mess left behind from the weekend's antics and I would urge anyone who witnesses any anti-social behaviour in our schools out with the normal school day to report it to the police."
