A RESTAURANT near Glasgow has closed its doors to customers after an employee tested positive for Covid-19.

Jam Jar in Paisley confirmed that they would not be opening today after a member of staff tested positive for coronavirus this morning.  

The restaurant added that they are awaiting test results for the rest of their staff as well as guidance from the NHS.

A statement published to Facebook this afternoon read: "Its with a heavy heart that we must inform you that we will not be opening the restaurant today.

"Unfortunately we have had a member of staff test positive for Covid this morning.

"In order to ensure the safety of our staff and of course our customers, we have taken the decision to keep our doors closed today whilst we await test results from the rest of the staff and guidance from NHS on how to move forward.

"We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and we will keep you updated with how we will move forward.

"We are currently calling any customers that are booked in with us today. Stay safe folks."
