POLICE probing a serious assault in Glasgow have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to.

Officers believe the individual may be able to assist them with their ongoing enquiries into an incident that took place within a premises at Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow city centre at around 3.15am on Monday, August 16.

The man pictured is described as a white male, aged between 30-35 years of age and around 5ft 8ins in height, with receding short-dark coloured hair.

He can be seen to be wearing a blue t-shirt, blue jeans and black trainers.

Detective Constable Paul Campbell from Greater Glasgow CID said: "It is important we trace the man in the images as we believe he may have information to assist with our enquiries.

"The man in the images or anyone who recognises him, or who has information regarding this investigation, is urged to contact Glasgow City Centre Police Station through 101 quoting reference number 0419 of 16th August.

"Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained."
