PAOLO Nutini, The Strokes, and Lewis Capaldi are among the acts today announced as headlining TRNSMT 2022.

Festival bosses have confirmed the initial pieces of the line-up for next year's Glasgow Green event, which will take place between July 8 and 10.

It will mark the first return of Paisley's Nutini to the live circuit scene since 2017 as he makes his TRNSMT debut.

Tickets for the fifth edition of the showpiece will go on sale at 9am on Friday with early bird passes on offer from 9am tomorrow.

The announcement comes just days following the conclusion of TRNSMT 2021, which saw Liam Gallagher, Nathan Evans, and Amy Macdonald wow around 150,000 fans last week.

As we have previously reported, Capaldi was spotted enjoying this year's festival with revellers. Fans were shocked to see the Someone You Loved singer - who was originally supposed to play the event before it was rescheduled - in the Glasgow Green crowds.

It will be the fourth time Capaldi has played TRNSMT, having first appeared in 2017 shortly before he became a household name around the world

Joining the "star-studded" bill across the festival is beabadoobee, Foals, Fontaines D.C., Jimmy Eat World, Sigrid, The Snuts and Wolf Alice. Organisers say "many more acts" will be announced in the coming months.

Talking about her debut next year at the festival, beabadoobee said: “I’m really excited to play cinch presents TRNSMT Festival.

"Scotland shows have such great crowds and I’m looking forward to playing new music to everyone there!”

Geoff Ellis, festival director of cinch presents TRNSMT, said on Sunday: "What a weekend. I can't think of a better way to bring the festival to a close than a block-rocking set from electronic legends The Chemical Brothers.

"I'd like to thank each and every fan, artist and crew member who has made this year's event well worth the wait. The atmosphere around Glasgow Green has been incredible all weekend and it's great to see so many smiling faces."
