A SECTION of a busy Merchant City street has been partially closed due to emergency repairs of a collapsed sewer.
Scottish Water engineers shut off one lane of Ingram Street from Glassford Street towards Queen Street this morning.
With the work expected to take around six weeks, road users are warned there could be delays.
Access will be maintained to Virginia Place for residents and guests at the Mercure Glasgow City Hotel.
A Scottish Water statement read: "A short section of Ingram Street in Glasgow City Centre has been reduced to one lane to allow emergency repairs to a partially collapsed sewer.
"The 30-metre section from Glassford Street towards Queen Street will allow Scottish Water to access the damaged area of sewer and determine how it can be repaired.
"Road traffic management has been agreed with Glasgow City Council.
"Local residents and road users are thanked for their patience and understanding."
