MEMBERS of the public have been urged to come forward with any information they might have regarding an attempted murder that took place in Maryhill last Saturday.

A man was attacked in what police are treating as "targeted" close to the Dawsholm Recycling Centre on Dalsholm Road.

Detectives are keen to trace a black Ford Kuga and two men that were in the car. Enquiries so far have revealed two people got out of the car before attacking the 41-year-old man. The driver remained in the vehicle.

As part of their ongoing enquiries, officers have set up an online portal to encourage members of the public to submit information.

The two attackers were wearing dark clothing, dark baseball caps and both had high-viz yellow vests.

Officers believe this was a targeted attack and there is no threat to the wider public.

A Ford Kuga was later found burnt out on a cycle path near Kelso Street and Dumbarton Road which cops have seized and is undergoing forensic examination.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan McAlpine said: “We continue to speak to family, friends and known associates of the victim for any information which could help us identify the attackers.

"We have received very little information from the public regarding this incident and I hope the introduction of the public portal will encourage people to provide information. The victim remains in hospital and although he is in a stable condition, he has suffered significant injuries and it’s imperative we trace whoever is responsible for the attack.”
