A MAN was taken to hospital after he was attacked within a property in Greenock.
Police blocked off a section of West Blackhall Street around 9.30am on Sunday after the victim sustained injuries within a flat.
Emergency services vehicles including police cars and an ambulance were on scene for a time following the incident.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing the victim being taken away in an ambulance.

Traffic was diverted away from the incident causing congestion in other areas of the town.
Police confimed that a 55-year-old man has been charged in connection with the alleged assault.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 9.25am to reports that a man had been injured within a property in the West Blackhall Street area of Greenock.
"The man has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and a 55-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident."
