A BID has been put forward to transform a former print shop in Glasgow into an eatery that aims to offer a "new dining experience" to residents.

Developers are hoping to turn the vacant unit at 12 Woodlands Road into a new restaurant and takeaway.

While council documents do not reveal the cuisine proposed for the vacant site, plans have been put in place to establish a bar within the West End space.

The application reads: "Offset to the right will be a  bar/servery which will act as both the server for the main restaurant but also as the collection point for any takeaways should these be required.

"There will be a small waiting area which will be available to customers waiting to be seated in the restaurant as well as those waiting for the takeaway service.

"Behind the servery will be the kitchen, and storage facilities as well as an accessible toilet."

It is anticipated that the operating hours will be from 10am until 11pm Sunday to Thursday and 10am until midnight on Saturdays.

The application adds: "The proposed change of use of this vacant property into a restaurant will see a new dining experience introduced into the road.

"The new use will help to animate the streetscape and in the evenings and in the dark winter months the splay of light from the large windows will illuminate the footpath and contribute to the sense of safety and security which is essential if the nighttime economy is to be fostered.

"This new restaurant will complement other establishments in the area and contribute to the area's appeal for both residents and visitors alike."

The application remains pending.
