Margaret McCarron lost her life in hospital following the incident in Motherwell on Sunday.

The 58-year-old - previously known as Margaret Borland - was on the town's Merry Street when she was hit by a marked vehicle at around 8.20pm.

She was taken to Wishaw Hospital but died a short time later. Neither officer inside the van was hurt.
