Blue WKD worth £280,000 was stolen during a break-in at a plant over the weekend.

The break-in, at Caledonian Bottlers, occurred during the evening of Saturday, 18 September.

It is believed that three HGV tractor/trailer units attended the premises in the early hours of Monday, 20 September and stole a quantity of pallets containing ‘Blue Wicked’ alcohol, valued at around £280,000.

Around 11.45pm on Monday, September 20 one of the tractor units containing a quantity of pallets of ‘Blue Wicked’ alcohol was discovered on fire on the A76 between Mennock and Enterkinfoot in Dumfriesshire.

Police are now appealing for any information following the Cumnock break-in.

Detective Constable Hugh Dempster at Kilmarnock Police Office said: “I would like to speak to anyone who has any information on the actual break-in at Caledonian Bottlers or anyone who may have seen a convoy of three HGV vehicles leaving the premises.

“I’d also ask any drivers who were travelling on the A76 towards Mennock, late on Monday evening, to check their dash cam footage as they may have captured one or more of the stolen vehicles.

“Anyone who is offered ‘Blue Wicked’ alcohol at a much discounted price is also asked to contact police immediately as this may be the stolen alcohol.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at Kilmarnock on telephone number 101 quoting incident number 1765 of September 20, 2021.

Alternatively calls can be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
