As 2021 is nearing its end, there are only three remaining bank holidays left to enjoy.

While we wait for St Andrew’s Day and the substitute days of Christmas Day and Boxing Day, here is a full list of the bank holidays of 2022 to look forward to:

  • January 3 (Monday) - New Years' Day (substitute day)
  • January 4 (Tuesday) - January 2. (substitute day)
  • April 15 (Friday) - Good Friday
  • May 2 (Monday) - Early May bank holiday
  • June 2 (Thursday) - Spring bank holiday
  • June 3 (Friday) - Platinum Jubilee bank holiday
  • July 16 (Saturday) - Glasgow Fair
  • August 1 (Monday) - Summer bank holiday
  • September 26 (Monday) - September Weekend
  • November 30 (Wednesday) - St Andrew's Day
  • December 26 (Monday) - Boxing Day
  • December 27 (Tuesday) - Christmas Day (substitute day)

Along with the general holidays, 2022 will bring the additional Platinum Jubilee, which will mean an extra day off for the UK.

That day, Her Majesty the Queen will become the first monarch to reach 70 years on the throne.

Extending the list is also the Scotland-specific St Andrew's Day which we have been celebrating since 2006.

Lastly, for Glasgow residents, two familiar dates appear. The historic Glasgow Fair, which falls on a Saturday next year and September Weekend, which is a historic local holiday.
