A CLYDEBANK singer has praised a café in Glasgow city centre. 

Marti Pellow, who was the former lead singer of Wet Wet Wet, visited The Food Stop at Bell Street in Merchant City. 

The star took to social media to compliment the employees, who he posed for a photo with.

The 56-year-old also recommended the business' mac n cheese to his thousands of fans. 

In a post on Facebook, he wrote: "The Food Stop Glasgow has the best Mac n Cheese, I promise. If you get the chance, you have to go. Lovely ladies, they always have a smile for you L2L Marti x"

The post has since racked up more than 4,300 likes and 200 comments. 

Marti is due to embark on his solo greatest hits tour in November but has been on home turf this week.

Pellow, who now lives in Windsor, had earlier in the week visited city restaurant La Lanterna West where he also posed for a picture with staff.
