A TEENAGE MAN has been arrested after two parents were "brutally attacked" in front of their children in Glasgow. 

The couple had been enjoying an afternoon in the sunshine before the alleged assault took place on Blairdardie Road on Saturday, April 17. 

As previously reported, the 26-year-old woman and 30-year-old man were treated in hospital for serious head and back injuries.

Detectives launched a probe into to incident and appealed to the public for any information. 

Detective Inspector Kenny McDonald at the time said: “This family were enjoying an afternoon in the sunshine when the parents were brutally attacked and we are keen to speak to anyone with information that can help our investigation."

A 17-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He will appear in court at a later date.

A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "A 17-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. 

"He was released on an Undertaking to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
