It’s been a long time coming, but that just means we’re all the more excited to hear that Cadbury’s are finally launching a plant-based version of their classic chocolate bar.

The 'plant bars' will be available in Smooth Chocolate or Smooth Chocolate with Salted Caramel Pieces and will be the 200-year-old brand’s first-ever fully vegan treat made using almonds.

Knowing that they’ve kept plant-based eaters waiting for the chance to enjoy one of their products again, Cadbury's today issued an apology alongside the announcement of the new bars.

They said: “Sorry it's taken this long. Sorry it seemed like we weren't answering your calls. Sorry for not being able to respond to the rumours. And sorry for all the other chocolate you've had to eat while you waited.

"We simply wanted it to be perfect."

As a confectionary company that famously prides itself on using a ‘glass and a half of milk in every bar’, Cadbury’s say that it took them extra time to make sure that their dairy-free option matched the same creamy taste of their classic bars.

Michael Moore, Marketing Manager at Cadbury, said: “We’re delighted to finally confirm that the rumours swirling around Cadbury Plant Bar are true!

"We’ve worked hard to add this delicious, dairy-free option to our iconic range, and we can only apologise for making our fans wait.

"Ensuring we deliver against our commitment to exceptional flavour has taken quite some time, but as of November, the wait is over.”

Look out for the bars in Sainsbury’s nationwide from November 2021 and all other newsagents and supermarkets from January 2022.
