A SIGNAL failure has caused travel chaos in Glasgow tonight.
The points at Bellgrove junction failed around three hours ago with trains unable to run to Airdrie.
Services between Balloch to Airdrie have been cancelled, delayed or revised and services between Springburn and Milngavie will be cancelled or changed.
Network Rail engineers have been on the scene and have secured a temporary repair which means trains will now be able to serve Airdrie, but not Springburn.
Our engineers have managed to implement a temporary fix and trains are now able to run to/from Airdrie, but this now means that trains can't run to/from Springburn. Our engineers continue to work to fix the fault.

Scotrail have attempted to secure replacement buses and are telling passengers to consider postponing journeys or making other arrangements.
UPDATE: We have requested replacement buses, but due to major events and engineering works this weekend, we're having difficulty sourcing them.

If you are planning on travelling on these affected routes, we would recommend that you postpone your journey/make other arrangements.
