A MAN was taken to hospital after he was seriously assaulted in East Kilbride.
The 35-year-old was walking his dog at around 10.55pm on the footpath of Barrie Road, near to the junction with Kenilworth Road on Thursday, October 7, when a man approached him and attacked him, "possibly with a weapon".
Police confirmed the man was taken to Monklands Hospital for treatment to a serious facial injury, before being released.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.
Police Constable Scott Brown from Hamilton Police Station said: "This incident left a man needing treatment in hospital, and we are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time.
“Anyone with dash cam footage, or who saw anything on Thursday evening, is asked to call 101 quoting reference number 3813 of October 7, 21.”
