HUNDREDS marched through Glasgow yesterday during an independence march and rally.

Crowds gathered at Kelvin Way at 11.30am before heading to Glasgow Green.

During the event, participants made their way through the city centre holding flags and banners.

Around 600-700 people attended the march, organisers Yes2indee said.

The SNP's leader at Westminster, Ian Blackford MP spoke to crowds at Glasgow Green on Saturday after the march had finished.

The MP became the most senior figure to address a Yes movement rally since First Minister Nicola Sturgeon in 2019.

Participants were overseen by police as they marched through streets in the city to MacLennan Arch, which was the rallying point for speeches.

A number of pipers and drummers also attended the event playing to crowds.

As marchers arrived at Glasgow Green they were greeted by the Yes Bikers.
