IT WAS a gig of many firsts for the Leicester rock band as they returned to the stage for the first time without their former frontman, Tom Meighan.

"Glasgow, Glasgow, Glasgow", was chanted by Serge Pizzorno as he welcomed the band's sold-out gig at the O2 Academy.

The vocalist and songwriter stunned fans with Club Foot opening the evening - and he didn't miss a beat the whole night.

The packed-out venue screamed with fists punched high into the air and palms met rapidly with a clap to the beat.

Glasgow Times:

Sweat dripped from the roof and mist clung to windows as the boys called for moshpits to Bumblebee and Fast Fuse.

"When this kicks in we bounce together", encouraged Serge - and Glasgow delivered.

Fans revelled in the group's first appearance since 2019, which marked the first evening of the band's 17-day-long tour around the UK.

Glasgow Times:

The energetic crowd wowed to LSF and Fire while 'Super John McGinn' was echoed over the silence between songs.

Pints swayed and spilled across the room with the lyrics to I'm In Love With a Psycho and Stevie blared among the Glasgow fans.

The encore concluded with all-time-favourite Fire and a special promise from the Kasabian trio: "Next time we see you, Glasgow, we'll have a new album."

Glasgow Times:

And Glasow was politely thanked for attending the short but sweet performance, with Serge saying: "Thank you for believing in us and thank you for coming".

We'll hold you to your promise, boys, and we'll see you again.
