IF you’ve ever wanted to own a piece of your favourite movie, or something belonging to your favourite celebrity, then now’s the time.

On October 19, a range of movie and TV costumes, including items belonging to actor Sean Connery and from the Harry Potter films, will go on auction at Mulberry Bank Auctions in the city's Hillington, as well as celebrity owned apparel and a wide range of Scottish Ballet costumes.

Mulberry Bank Auctions director Kirsty Harris said: “It’s a fascinating collection of items.

“It’s a single vendor sale with some of the highlights being three of The Beatles’ suits, unfortunately we’re missing George, and they actually come with a waxwork head and a full line of provenance going right back to Brian Epstein which is fantastic.

“We’ve got items from Sean Connery from Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, we’ve got Madonna’s suit from Evita, and we’ve got more modern pieces from Beyonce, Britney and the likes.

“Then we’re going right into the Scottish Ballet and we’ve got pieces from their first ever production, Mary Queen of Scots, going right the way through and watching the evolution of the costumes becoming more and more elaborate as they go.”

A tabard, worn by Sean Connery as King Richard in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves is estimated to sell for between £300-£400.

Props on sale from the Harry Potter films include Hogwarts letters from the first movie, a wand from Ollivanders and coins from Gringotts, with some items expected to sell for up to £500.

There are also a wide range of costumes available from Scottish Ballet productions, including some designed and hand sewn by Jasper Conran.

Glasgow Times:

While there are several items likely to "make a bit of a splash", Kirsty believes there are three items which will get the highest bids.

She said: “It’s always impossible to tell at an auction, we get such fantastic surprises, but I’ll be honest and say probably I think The Beatles, I’d be surprised if something beats The Beatles.”
