A MAN is accused of killing a pensioner while riding a quad bike.

Prosecutors allege Kilgour, 25, had taken alcohol and controlled drugs.

The charge claims he repeatedly drove on the wrong side of the road before mounting the pavement.

The indictment states Kilgour failed to brake and take evasive action causing him to hit Mrs Meldrum.

The OAP is said to have been so severely injured that she did not survive.

Kilgour, also of Knightswood, faces other charges including an accusation that he drove the quad bike while "unfit through drink or drugs".

His QC Tony Graham entered no plea during a short hearing today at the High Court in Glasgow.

Lord Matthews adjourned the case until later this year.
