A dangerous firework hit a pram in the city's Southside.

The missile was launched at the pram while it was being pushed along Langside Road on Tuesday afternoon.

A post on social media said a newborn baby was inside the pram, but police confirmed no-one was injured.

The post said: "We were walking across the square [by Langside Hall] with our toddlers in their buggies and two, possibly three teenage boys set off some fireworks about 30ft away from us.

"The fireworks landed directly onto another woman's pram with her newborn baby in it, spinning on top for what seemed like forever!

"Luckily she had the rain cover on so her baby was unharmed but the outcome could've been horrific beyond words. This poor mum of course was left completely in shock and in tears."

Police confirmed an investigation has been launched into the incident.

Chief Inspector Neil McLeod said this behaviour has "the potential to cause serious injury" and "will not be tolerated".

He said: "We received a report of a firework hitting a pram in Langside Road in Glasgow.
