A SCOTS actor has summarised pressing rodent and littering concerns in Glasgow as "just life".

Brian Cox appeared on the panel of BBC’s flagship political debate show Question Time last night.

During a section on COP26, the 75-year-old said he thought it was "great" that Glasgow was hosting the climate summit.

But when he was pressed on issues surrounding rubbish collections, rats and fly-tipping on the run-up to the event, he said: "Well, I mean, that's life."

The controversial comment was followed with MP Andrew Bowie admitting he did not agree with the Scottish Independence campaigner.

He said: "I disagree slightly, I think for the people living in Glasgow it shouldn't be "life".

"Glasgow City Council could pick their game up. We've seen Glasgow at its best in 2014 when it hosted the Commonwealth Games.

"I really hope Glasgow City Council can step up and get it back to where it was then because Glasgow deserves that."

More than 100 world leaders and 25,000 delegates are expected to descend into the city on November 1 as the event gets underway.

The Glasgow Times revealed earlier this week that binmen and school staff will strike during summit over amid a pay rise row.

Around 1500 cleansing employees, janitors, cleaners and catering workers have planned to walk out for the duration of the conference.
