A TEENAGER has been charged with attempting to murder a 51-year-old man.
Brian McKillop, 18, allegedly assaulted James Britton in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire, on October 20 this year.
Prosecutors state McKillop repeatedly punched and kicked Mr Britton to the head and body on Farmeloan Road.
It is stated McKillop also repeatedly stamped on Mr Britton's head to his severe injury.
The charge claims McKillop attempted to murder Mr Britton and robbed him of prescription medication.
McKillop made no plea today at a private hearing in Glasgow Sheriff Court.
McKillop, of Rutherglen, was remanded in remanded in custody pending further examination by Sheriff Paul Reid.
He will appear at court again within the next eight days.
