Verdict: Four stars.

SOULFUL singer Rag ‘n’ Bone Man declared Glasgow one of the best places to play in the world as he wowed a sold-out o2 Academy.

The star - whose real name is Rory Graham - put on a powerhouse display of vocals at the city venue last night opening up with All You Ever Wanted, Fall in Love Again and hit ballad Skin.

He beamed: “How the f**k are you Glasgow?” - and was taken aback when a bold punter in the crowd asked how he was.

He laughed: “No one ever asks me that. I’m doing good, thanks for asking.”

The 36-year-old then added: “It’s so overwhelming being on the stage.

“Everyone always asks us where one of the best places to play in.

“Glasgow is one of the best places to play in the world.”

And that moment of praise for the city set the tone for the evening as the singer put on a show to remember.

Latest single Alone brought some rocker vibes to the show thanks to a remix by Nothing But Thieves while the Pink duet Anywhere Away from Here proved to be a real audience pleaser.

Part of Rag ‘n’ Bone Man’s charm is his ability to switch easily from uptempo tracks where he easily gets his groove on to the ballads with raw lyrics which show off his vulnerability.

Human was an example of the latter. His performance was simply haunting as the star showed versatility in the strength of his vocals leaving the audience with goosebumps.

While the Calvin Harris produced Giant left the crowd eager for more.
