RANGERS have shared a heartbreaking video tribute to former legendary manager Walter Smith following his death at 73.

The post, which has been shared on the official Rangers FC Twitter account, shows clips of the ex-footballer's iconic career at the club, including his monumental win league win in 1987.

Seen speaking of the Ibrox side's 80s domination, he said: "I think probably in a few seasons time we can look back and say that this was one of the best seasons the club's had.

"Obviously, I'm delighted to be involved in it."

Smith, who also managed Scotland's national squad, led fellow legends Ally McCoist and Paul Gascoigne while also bringing the team to a historic 9-in-a-row victory.

Speaking of his return to the team in the 2000s, where he led the Gers to the 2008 UEFA Cup final, he said: "It was a big decision to change and come back, to be quite honest with you. I wouldn't have done it for any other club."

As Smith lifted the trophy for the final time, the commentator can be heard saying: "10 titles, 21 trophies, that is the stuff of legends, that is Walter Smith's Rangers."
