Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT), which manages the Glasgow Subway, said: “As Glasgow gets ready to host the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26) from 31 October to 12 November 2021, the city will find itself the focus of global attention.

“This is the biggest summit the UK has ever hosted and SPT is working closely with key partners to ensure that those who need to travel around the city will be able to.

“However the impact the event will have on the city should not be under-estimated. The scale and impact on transport and travel is expected to be unprecedented.”

Road closures, including the Clydeside Expressway, the Clyde Arc and Lancefield Quay will be in place from October 23 until November 14.

SPT advises residents and commuters to plan their journeys ahead.

Sunday services on the two weekends of the conference will run from 8am to 10pm.

In addition, bus stances at Buchanan Bus Station will remain open throughout the night for Edinburgh services.

The Subway will otherwise run as normal during COP26, with services running from 6am to 11.40pm from Monday to Friday and last trains leaving the city centre at 11.32pm.
