A SCOTS comedian and former Big Brother contestant was caught speeding just yards from the prosecution's headquarters.

Hardeep Singh Kohli was snared going 11 miles per hour over the limit in a Peugeot 407 at Glasgow city centre's Ballater Street on August 26, 2020.

The 52-year-old had three live penalty points at the time of the offence.

It is also the second time Kohli has been convicted for speeding.

Kohli pleaded guilty today by letter at Glasgow's Justice of the Peace court to a single speeding charge of going 41 miles per hour in a 30 zone.

Prosecutor Kyle Dalziel said: "The time was 10.50pm, the location was ironically just outside the procurator fiscal's office in Ballater Street."

Justice of the Peace Colin Marchmant replied: "How unfortunate.

"Would that be considered a 'homer' for you Mr Fiscal?"

Kohli, of the city's Kelvindale, was fined £300 and had three points put on his licence.

Kohli was fined £180 in 2019 for driving without a licence in the city centre's West Nile Street.

The comic originally claimed he did not realise his licence had been revoked by an "overzealous doctor" when he complained of pins and needles in one of his feet.

His licence had been revoked two years previous.
