A GLASGOW Rangers pub has paid tribute to their former club manager and chairman Walter Smith.

The Bristol Bar in the city's East End transformed its shutter with a portrait of the football giant.

The Duke Street pub also laid flowers at its door in remembrance.

A statement on Bristol Bar's Facebook page reads: "Rest easy Sir Walter. The gaffer, the legend. Love the Bristol Bar."

It comes as Light Blues fans paid tribute to Smith before their game with Aberdeen at Ibrox last night.

Gers supporters unfurled banners inside the stadium to honour one of their most successful managers.

The banner read: "for deeds done and glories won, thank you Walter."
