American President ,Joe Biden, has urged the world to get to work in Glasgow and answer the call of history to save the planet.

The President of the United States swept though the city in a high security 20 vehicle motorcade to the SEC where the world leaders are gathered for the summit at the start of the COP 26.

He laid out a list of actions the USA was taking on climate change and on helping other nations.

The President issued a rallying call to the rest of the world to make history in Glasgow.

He said: “Let this be the moment that we answer history’s call here in Glasgow.

“We can do this. We just have to make the choices to do it. Let’s get to work.”

Biden said climate change has led to an increase in flooding, fires and storms that used to be once in a century event but were now every few years.

He said the pandemic has showed that no nation can “wall itself off” and nations had to act together and richer nations help poorer nations.

As well as what he called a “moral imperative” to act, Biden said there was an “economic imperative” too.

He said tacking climate change will create jobs in construction in engineering and other industries as new technologies are needed.”
