A MAN is accused of making a slit throat gesture while holding a knife.

Hussein Farouk allegedly made the actions while on a public service vehicle in Glasgow's Carntyne on February 3 this year.

Prosecutors state that the 32-year-old behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause a reasonable person fear or alarm.

It is claimed Farouk brandished a knife, made threatening gestures with it, drew his hand across his throat in a threatening gesture and behaved in an aggressive manner.

Farouk is also accused of assaulting a Paul Graham in the public service vehicle by attempting to strike him on the body with a knife or similar instrument.

He faces a further charge of assaulting a force support officer at a police officer in the city's south side by kicking him on the body on the same date.

Farouk's final charge states he had a knife without a reasonable excuse or lawful authority.

Farouk, of the city's Wellhouse, failed to appear today at a hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

A warrant for his arrest was asked for by prosecutor Sarah Latta and granted by Sheriff John McCormick.
