A GLASGOW radio station has pulled a 'presidential' prank on a local chippy.

Previously we reported that staff at popular chip shop Blue Lagoon were amazed to be visited by what they believed to be ambassadors to President of the United States Joe Biden.

Now Pure Radio has revealed that they decided to dress up as US delegates and pretend to order a fish supper on behalf of the President.

Decorating a limousine with American flags and using American accents, the pranksters delivered a convincing performance to the staff, who we previously reported had said:  “They looked like the FBI."

Pure Radio posted a video on Twitter last night revealing the stunt.

Blue Lagoon were recorded answering a phone call in which an American-sounding voice says: "I'm outside here on behalf of the President."

Staff recommended that Biden should sample a deep fried Mars bar, ice cream and raspberry sauce, and classic fish and chips.

Onlookers were seen trying to capture the entourage at the Queen Street eatery as one 'delegate' entered and asked if he could try an Irn Bru, an iconic Scottish drink many tourists are eager to taste.

Although a false alarm this time, Blue Lagoon are no strangers to famous faces.

In 2016 pop star Justin Bieber visited the Central Station branch for haggis, fish and sausage suppers, and some Irn Bru.

If we have learned anything from this prank, it is that the President has missed out on a delicious meal!
