SUSAN Aitken has confirmed she is self-isolating after she came into close contact with the mayor of Los Angeles, Eric Garcetti.
The US politician tested positive with Covid-19 yesterday, as reported in our sister title The Herald..
The leader of Glasgow City Council met with Mr Garcetti on Tuesday.
Ms Aitken tweeted: "I was with Mayor Garcetti, who has tested positive for Covid, on Tuesday.
"I’ve had two negative lateral flow tests since then but I’ve also taken a PCR test, have withdrawn from my planned engagements and will self isolate at home until I get a negative result."

It is understood first minister Nicola Sturgeon also briefly met with Mr Garcetti but has not been identified as a close contact, according to The Herald.
Meanwhile, Mr Garcetti is now self-isolating in his hotel room. A tweet from his official twitter account said: "Mayor Garcetti tested positive for COVID-19 earlier today. "He is feeling good and isolating in his hotel room. He is fully vaccinated."
