HOLLYWOOD actor Idris Elba has arrived in Glasgow to speak on day seven of the COP26 summit.

The 49-year-old Brit was pictured inside the Scottish Event Campus in the city's Finnieston where the event is being held.

His Canadian wife Sabrina - who is an International Fund for Agricultural Development ambassador and activist - also attended the event.

The actor - best known for his role as Stringer Bell in The Wire - shared a tweet with video from the UK Department for Environment which said: "Nature is home.

"We need to protect it for the future generations to come.

"Hear this lesson from children around the world on why we need to protect nature."

He added: "A lesson from our future generation."

Elba last made waves in the city in 2018 when he filmed a Fast and Furious spin-off Hobbs and Shaw. 

He has also starred in the Thor movies and The Suicide Squad. 

This week, the city has welcomed some of Hollywood's biggest names who have attended COP26 events including actor Leonardo Di Caprio, actress Emma Watson and fashion designer Stella McCartney.
