A CRASH on a busy overbridge in Glasgow has prompted an emergency response.

Traffic Scotland said the incident took place on the M8 westbound between Charing Cross and St Vincent Street just before 2pm today.

It is understood the crash involved two vehicles.

The road did temporarily close to traffic but has since reopened.

Police responded to the scene after the alarm was raised at around 1.45pm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a two-car collision at 1.45pm on the M8 between Charing Cross and St Vincent Overbridge.

"Officers attended, the drivers exchanged details and there were no injuries reported."
