Former US President, Barack Obama, made an appearance at the COP 26 summit in Glasgow today.

He emerged from a meeting with delegates on Partnerships for Island Resilience, about sharing solutions for ocean states.

He emerged smiling from the meeting room, waving to the waiting press, and others in the venue, who had gathered to catch a glimpse of the 44th President of the USA.

Later, he will address the Plenary Session of the COP 26 in the main hall on the efforts needed to tackle climate change.

The former President flew in to Glasgow yesterday and is understood to be staying in a hotel outside the city.
