A LOUT who barged into a property and threatened the occupants later claimed it wasn't him as he was eating pasta.

Gary Jamieson shouted and swore at two people at the property in Glasgow's Govan on March 18 this year.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard Jamieson entered the flat and demanded money for his friend.

Prosecutor Sean Docherty said: "He was shouting, swearing and acting erratically.

"He said he was going to bring 'The Shank' and come back in five minutes."

One of the occupants contacted the police after Jamieson left.

He was hearing shouting about petrol bombs outside of the property meantime.

Jamieson was then arrested by police.

Mr Docherty added: "In reply to his caution and charge he said 'I don't understand that, I was just walking back from my granddad's eating my pasta'."

Jamieson pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

His lawyer Susan Gibson told the court Jamieson has little recollection of the incident as he was under the influence at the time.

Miss Gibson added that the occupants were known to Jamieson from the local area.

Sheriff Shona Gilroy jailed Jamieson for 90 days.
