CLAIRE Sweeney will star in Dolly Parton's smash hit 9 to 5 The Musical when it comes to the King's Theatre next year.
Playing sassy office supervisor Violet Newstead, Claire Sweeney will take to the stage from Tuesday 25 to Saturday 29 of January.
With a television and theatre career spanning over 20 years, Claire is probably best known for playing Lindsey Corkhill in Brookside.
In the West End, she has starred as Roxie Hart in Chicago and Miss Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, as well as Baroness Bomburst in the National Tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, amongst a host of other roles.

For 9 to 5, Claire joins a cast that includes Vivian Panka making her professional stage debut as Judy Bernly, Stephanie Chandos as Doralee Rhodes, Sean Needham as Franklin Hart Jr., Julia J. Nagle as Roz Keith, and Russell Dickson as Joe.
Inspired by the cult film, the hilarious musical tells the story of Doralee, Violet and Judy, three workmates who are pushed to their boiling point by their sexist and egotistical boss.
9 to 5 The Musical is written by Patricia Resnick, the film's original screenwriter, and features the music of the legendary Dolly Parton.
