SERENA Baker, winner of the 2021 BBC series has joined a sustainable fashion festival in Glasgow today.
More than 350 students took part in a fashion event at Glasgow Caledonian University today.
Sustainable Fashion: Re-Clothing the Future promoted the sustainable fashion industry and presented career opportunities within the fashion and manufacturing industries.
Students and young people from Glasgow and nearby areas attended the event, along with business leaders, academics and policymakers.
As a special guest, Serena Baker took part in a live upcycling and clothing repair demonstration and answered questions from the audience.
The event also included a showcase by GCU students, a live performance on the impact of fast fashion and a clothing swap shop.
Attendee Siobhan Duff, aged 22, said: “The Festival has been fantastic and I’ve learned a lot about the impact that my choices in buying and wearing clothing has on the environment.
"It is really important that we begin to think more about what we are doing with old clothes when we no longer need them and there are some amazing things you can do to upgrade or recycle the materials.”
