HUNDREDS gathered at the cenotaph on George Square today to pay homage to fallen soldiers in commemoration of Remembrance Sunday.
The civic centre fell silent for two minutes at 11am this morning in sombre reflection.
Lord Provost Philip Braat paid tribute to veterans today as he laid a wreath in a poignant ceremony.
He tweeted: "Honoured and extremely moved to lead Glasgow’s Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cenotaph, joined by veterans, serving personnel, the public and colleagues, as we remember loved ones and all those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms."
Councillor Braat was joined by servicemen and women along with local organisations such as the Scouts and Girl Guides.
Services took place across the country today with First Minister Nicola Sturgeon commemorating the day in Edinburgh.
