Pop sensation Sophie Ellis-Bextor has been taking in the sights of Glasgow following her performance at the Ovo Hydro on Monday.

The Murder on the Dancefloor singer appeared as a support act for the band Steps and wowed the crowd with her disco-influenced grooves.

Taking time to relax after her gig, Bextor wandered the streets of the city's West End to indulge in some vintage shopping and reflect on a meaningful encounter with a fan.

Sharing her day out with her followers on Instagram, Bextor made her love for Glasgow clear by posting a photo taken near the Botanic Gardens which she captioned: "handsome city."

Next for the star, it was a spot of retail therapy.

Bextor revealed herself as a lover of all things vintage as she visited hidden gem Starry Starry Night on Dowanside lane.

The tiny clothes shop is well known by locals as a treasure trove of one-off statement pieces and chic finds.

Finally, in a touching tribute to a fan, the singer posted a photo of bar and events venue the Oran Mor on Byres road.

Reminiscing back to her 2014 Wanderlust tour, the singer wrote of her memorable meeting with fan Jo McDonald who sadly died in 2016 following her battle with cystic fibrosis.

Writing of Jo she said: "She was lovely.

"Sending love to her family.

"She left a lasting impression on me.
