AN 80-year old man was rushed to hospital after he was hit by a car.

The incident happened on Stuart Street in East Kilbride, near the Village Inn around 8am on Wednesday, November 24.

The man was crossing the road when a black Renault Clio, travelling North struck him.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and a man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to treat his serious injuries.

Police officers urge anyone with footage or knowledge of the incident to come forward.

Sergeant Andrew Shearer said: “From our enquiries, we know there were several people in the area at the time of the incident and I would urge these people to contact us as their information could prove vital. 

"I would also ask any motorists with dash cam devices to check their footage as they may have captured images which would assist us in establishing the full circumstances of what has happened.
