FIFTY cyclists across the East End are back on their bikes thanks to a community repair project.

The project, funded by Wellhouse Housing Association has helped cycles back into a roadworthy condition in partnership with the Easthall Residents Association and The Urban Fox Programme meant residents could have their bikes fixed free of charge.

There was also a bike giveaway that saw 18 refurbished cycles being given out free of charge.

Glasgow Times:

The scheme was made possible thanks to a donation from Wellhouse Housing Association.

Maureen Morris, Chair of Wellhouse Housing Association, said: “One of the great things about cycling is that it is a free model of transport available to all ages.

“We have seen pensioners and school children alike attend the Wellhouse Hub to get their bike checked and get together to cycle together.

“Cycling offers a huge range of benefits for both physical health but also financially.
