John Hartson wears his heart on his sleeve at the best of times but when he’s covering his old club Celtic, whom he’s supporting in the co-commentary position is never in doubt.

And that was never better illustrated than his delirious reaction to Jota’s stunning goal against Leverkusen in the Europa League tonight.

The brilliantly worked goal from winger Jota put the Hoops 2-1 up with just under half an hour to go in an exciting match.

And Hartson could barely contain his glee and struggled to keep his composure amid the phenomenal scenes.

He gasped on BT Sport: “What a break! What a break and counter-attack that is! And finished from Jota.

“Joe Hart gets it there. What a strike this is into James’ Forrest’s feet. A great touch from Forrest into Biton.

“I think Biton nearly fluffed the pass, they get it again and to hit it first time... Jota... what a finish!

“Unbelievable stuff from Celtic.”
