STAFF at a shop in Glasgow were threatened by an unidentified man during an attempted robbery this morning. 

The thug entered the shop on Clarkston Road shortly before 11.55am and threatened a member of staff at the checkout. 

He then reportedly tried to gain access to the till but left the shop on foot empty-handed. 

Police confirmed the male member of staff was checked by paramedics at the scene.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses to the incident and to trace the man.

The suspect is described as being white, in his mid-twenties, and wearing a green and white tracksuit.

Constable Sarah-Lee MacFarlane of the Greater Glasgow Community Investigation Unit said: "Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may be able to help to get in touch.

"We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or private CCTV footage from the area.
