A 'very faithful' Glasgow priest has died.
The Archdiocese of Glasgow announced via their social media pages that Father Christopher Gilfedder passed away this week with the message 'Requiescat in pace'.
Father Christopher was former Parish Priest of St Gabriel's, Merrylee and Pilgrimage Director and Chaplain to the Lourdes Hospitalité.
He passed away on Friday, November 26 2021
In their Facebook post, The Archdioces shared a tribute from a pilgrim that said: "He was very faithful and could be found every morning down at the hospital where his lovely smile lit up our day."
Another comment on the post reads: "Lovely man.
"Great smile, fondly remember at St Dominic's Bishopbriggs."
Tributes are also being posted on the St Gabriel's Merylee Facebook page with one saying: "RIP Father Gilfedder I fondly remember you marrying us almost 25 years ago.
"May you rest in peace in your room in God's house."
Funeral arrangements for Father Christopher will be 'announced in due course'.
