Britpop icons Shed Seven have been inducted into the Barrowland Hall of Fame.

The band, who are from York and reached peak fame during the 1990s with songs like Chasing Rainbows and Going for Gold, have now joined a select few who have been recognised for making the 'world famous Glasgow Barrowlands the iconic venue it is today'.

To mark the occasion, they played a special show at the Barrowland on Friday, November 26, a full 25 years after their first headline performance there.

In a post on social media the band said: "What an honour …we have been inducted into the Barrowland Hall Of Fame.

"Decided on by the crew and venue itself, the award is only presented on a few occasions each year.

"The alumni of the Hall of Fame have their names on plaques displayed in the corridor between the Main Dressing Room and the Stage.

"Every headliner walks past this group on their way to perform.

"Thanks so much."

Previous inductees at the Barrowland Hall of Fame include Iggy Pop, The Ramones and Noel Gallagher.

The East End venue is one of the city's most famous concert spaces, known for attracting big-name stars with its unique energy and rich history.
